Researcher: What vectors are available for expression of auto-fluorescent fusion proteins?

TechTALKer: AFP-Tags™ vectors expressing fluorescent fusion proteins, are available in both red-shifted (rsGFP) and an exclusive Blue Fluorescent (BFP) protein formats. The rsGFP and BFP have been generated by selecting and combining mutations designed to give increased fluorescent intensity and longevity, increased solubility, and optimal spectral properties. The rsGFP contains silent mutations that render selected codons optimal for translation in mammalian cells while maintaining expression in bacteria. Both rsGFP and BFP are stable and highly resistant to photo-bleaching. Since the excitation and emission spectra do not overlap, rsGFP and BFP are ideally matched for use as individual markers for simultaneous dual color detection of both markers in the same cell.s
